Forum Rules

The rules listed below explain what is expected of forum users. Please note that these rules may not include all types of violations. Thus, forum moderators reserve the right to evaluate each incident individually and take the relevant action they deem pertinent to the case.

POSTING THREADS

1) Thread Irrelevancy
This includes posting entries irrelevant to topic or in the wrong section of the forum
If such actions are found, posted entries will be:
- Moved to correct section or,
- Deleted by forum moderators
Note: Deliberate and/or repeated offenders will be given a temporary or permanent ban, depending upon severity of the offense

2) Spamming / Gibberish
This includes:
- Spamming the same post, same phrase, similar phrases, pure gibberish or nonsensical strings of words.
If a player is found spamming, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

3) Cross Linking Threads
This includes:
- Linking to threads from other websites not related to Maple or other forums
- Creating threads with the purpose of linking to another post
If a user is caught cross linking threads, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

4) Creating Duplicate Threads
This includes:
- Creating threads about existing topics
- Creating a separate thread about an existing topic for further discussion in more than one forum section
If a player is found to have been creating duplicate threads, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense


OFFENSIVE POSTS

1) Hooligan Behavior / Trolling
This includes:
- Creating posts or topics for the purpose of causing unrest in the forum
- Causing disturbances in forum threads, such as picking fights and insulting other people and/or their posts
If a player is found to be conducting hooligan behavior or trolling, he/she will be:
- Temporarily or permanently banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

2) Racial / Religion / Country
This includes both clear and implied language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Promote racial / religion / country discrimination and/or hatred
- Insulting or negative portrayal of other races / religion / countries
- Insulting or negative portrayal of symbols and/or major figures of races / religion / countries
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum
- Given a written final warning, any further forum rule violations may result in permanent ban from the forum

3) Sex /Violence
This includes both clear and implied language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Are pornographic in nature
- Refer to violent and/or sexual acts
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Permanently banned from the forum

4) Obscenities / Vulgarities / Inappropriate language
This includes both clear and implied language in posts, signatures and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Are pornographic
- Reference to human anatomy or bodily functions
- Are otherwise considered questionable or objectionable in regard to the level of appropriateness in language
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

5) Harassment / Flaming
This includes both clear and implied language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Insult other characters, guilds, players, SinkoMS GM, or groups of people
- Result in ongoing harassment to other characters, guilds, players, SinkoMS GM, or groups of people
- Make non-constructive criticisms and/or insults about the game
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Temporarily or permanently banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

GAME-RELATED

1) Malicious Programs
This includes posting forum entries and/or links to websites which:
- Pertain to cheats, hacks and/or in-game exploits
- Pertain to malicious viruses / programs, Trojan horses etc
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Permanently banned from the forum

2) Game Trading
This includes both advertising your account or characters for sale, auction or trade, or advertising that you are looking for an account or characters to buy through:
- Forum posts
- Linking to eBay or other auction or online store sites
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Given a final written warning, any further violations may result in a permanent ban from the forum
- Post will be deleted by forum moderators

OTHERS

1) Illegal Activities
This includes both clear and implied language and/or links to websites containing such language or images which:
- Reference to performing illegal activities
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Temporarily or permanently banned from the forum, depending upon severity

2) Advertising
This includes advertisement of:
- Any non-beneficial, non- Maple related businesses, organizations, or websites
If a player is found to have been advertising, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity of the offense

3) Impersonating a SinkoMS GM
This includes:
- Passing yourself off as a SinkoMS GM to post on the forum
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Permanently banned from the forum

4) Distribution of Real-Life Personal Information
This includes posting real-life information about other players or a SinkoMS GM on the forum
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Given a final warning and post will be deleted
- Any further violations may result in a permanent ban from the forum

5) Discussion of Disciplinary Actions
This includes:
- Creating posts or topics to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a player, including chat logs and email correspondence between a player and/or a SinkoMS Gm.
- Creating posts or topics to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a character or account on the forum
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, he/she will be:
- Temporarily banned from the forum, depending upon severity
